The Last Airbender: The Legend of Korra

Hmm, no sign of Shyamalan anywhere. I guess all 12 episodes won't be condensed to 12 minutes after all.

The first official image of Avatar Korra has been released by Nickelodeon .

This officially means  the beginning of Nickelodeon’s marketing campaign for ‘The Last Airbender: The Legend of Korra.” Despite the widespread success of its animated predecessor, Nickelodeon is going to have to work really hard to undo the damage caused by M. Night Shyamalan’s recklessly abridged feature film that seemed to have had a distinct aversion to character depth and emotion.

As Aang’s successor, Korra’s story will take place 70 years after the events of the original series and be told over the course of the 12 part mini-series.  The show’s original creators, Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, are back as are most of their production team so hopefully we can expect a true return to form that will reinvigorate the franchise.
