Coachella Couture

By Gabi Conti / LA

No, I did not go to Coachella. And although I tweeted “So many less D-bags in LA today. They’re probably all at Coachella.” I assure you that was partly out of jealously and partly out of the scientific fact that I knew at last one D-bag who attended Coachella. Also a fact, people liked that status update on Facebook.

So Coachella fashion, since it’s usually as hot as balls in the dessert mid April, Coachella fashion trends are usually a good indication of what you’ll be wearing this summer. You can probably trace the trends of Raybans, fedoras and flannel back to one of these music festivals.

So what we’re seeing a lot of.:

FLOPPY HATS – are the new Fedoras, and they seem more practical, as they block more sun.

FLOWY WHITE TOPS – well it is hot, something cotton or lace like this Forever 21 number I found will keep you cool, both temperature and trend wise

BRIGHT BOLD PRINTS – We’re seeing a lot of bold prints this season, either paisley or tribal, a refreshing change from the animal print I’m convinced Snookie has made cliché

CUT OFF DEMIN SHORTS – a Coachella staple for sure, cut offs, Tobias from Arrested Development would be proud

FUNKY SANDALS  – We’re still seeing that mini gladiator sandal, I found there super cute, topped with Peacock feather and it works the tribal woodsy theme we’ve been seeing

BOLD COLOR- and splashes if it, be it a purse, your sunglasses or on your finger tips, the brighter the better

STRIPES – Well duh, when is stripes and polka dots NOT in during the Spring season? This season our stripes are getting skinnier like this bikini

So there you have it, a Coachella fashion report and I didn’t have to spend $600 dollars to see bands I don’t really care about or get sunburned.

Stay Trendy.
