Hummingbird Bakery, Lola’s, Peyton & Byrne… Anyone who has lived in London will agree that it is a haven for baked delights!
Impossible to narrow my choice down to a favourite but an honourable mention must go to Konditor & Cook. During my sleep-deprived and largely joyless 2008-2009 when I was studying for my GDL, their Curly Whirly Cake (dense layers of velvety rich chocolate sponge encased in an indulgent amount of vanilla/cream cheese icing) provided many moments of respite…even if it meant my classmates drooling over my textbooks!
